Garden Photos and Improvisational Field Sculpture

"Shamans who visit or dwell in wilderness areas sometimes mark the landscape in the course of their spiritual exercises.  They are, however, careful to touch the land rather lightly, leaving only a small but important trace before they move on.  I am thinking here of the assemblages of the American Indians use to demarcate power spots.  These configurations are always done anonymously, leaving no ego of the creator."  From Shamanism and the Modern Artist by Mark Levy.
